A pretty Edwardian cast iron fire surround. The fire has an attractive design, typical of the era, with swags, ribbons and ovals along the crossbar. The legs have a simple pattern and chunky feet. The fire has been blacked and polished and has a very fine finish. The surround is of a perfect size for a living or dining room and can be paired with a wood burner or fire basket and fire back. The fire is in good, solid condition but as it is a reclaimed antique there are some slight signs of use and wear. The back has surface rust as expected. Some small scratches, pitting and casting marks. The mantels screws are slightly raised and off centre but the mantel is stable. Some smalls knocks and chips and a light knock to the corner of the fire opening. The fire surround has a beautiful classic style that would add great period charm to a home and is a well made and desirable item.
