Dimensions:
A very attractive, reclaimed, reproduction cast iron fire surround. The surround has been painted white and is a reproduction of a fire from the Regency period. The surround has an ornate design with overlapping disk patterns on the legs and cross bar. Each corner and the middle of each leg and cross bar has a circular design with a flower in relief. The fire is believed to be approximately 40-50 years old. The iron has painted but could be stripped, blacked and polished. We can strip and refinish the fire for an extra charge, please contact us for details and for a quote. The fire is well made and very heavy but has some signs of use and wear from age. The paint has some chipping and marks and there are some patches of surface rust that can be seen through the paint. There are some knocks to the edges and mantel. The back of the fire has surface rust as expected. The fire surround is ideal for use with a fire basket or perhaps for decorative purposes. The fire has a very elegant period look and will be perfect for adding character and charm to a home.
