A classic style, original antique, late Victorian painted pine fire surround dating to C.1900. The fire surround has a simple and attractive design, typical of the era, with carved borders around the fire opening and around the mantel edges. The legs have recessed panels. The pine has been painted white and is in reasonable condition but purchaser may wish to strip and re-paint the surround to suit. The fire surround is of a good size and would be suited to a living room or larger bedroom and could be paired with a cast iron fire insert. The fire surround is in good condition with some signs of age and wear, as excepted of reclaimed antique items. The surround has some marks to the paint and small chips to the wood. The feet have some slight damage and knocks and there is some damage to the back edge and back left corner of the mantel. Currently there are metal pegs for fitting in to the wall and a thin ledge at the back of the mantel. We can remove the pegs and ledge for you if required, please contact us for information and a quote. The fire surround has a design that would complement both modern and period properties and is a lovely item for finishing a fire place.
