A very elegant, reclaimed, Edwardian Arts and crafts oak fire surround. The tall and slim surround has a superb design with carved borders around the fire opening and thick feet. The crossbar has carved ogee edges and there are deep horizontal mouldings under the mantel. The oak has a rich colour and it has a waxed or varnished finish that highlights the wood grain. The surround, ideal for a bedroom or smaller reception room, is perfect for pairing with a cast iron fire insert. We have photographed the surround with an insert for illustrative purposes. Please note the cast iron insert is not included in the listing price and is sold separately. If you would like further information about this fire insert please see reference FI0057 for details. The surround is in very good reclaimed condition with some slight signs of age, as expected of antique items. The fire surround has some chips and knocks, especially to the edges and mantel. The mantel has some holes and some darker marks. The oak has some scratches and marks. The crossbar and mantel have slight movement but this should not cause an issue when the surround is secured to the wall. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround is of a fine quality and has elegant styling, typical of the period, and is perfect for adding charm and character to a fireplace.
