Dimensions:
A reclaimed, decorative, pine fire surround with marble slips. The surround is of a large size, ideal for a living or dining room and has a very attractive appearance, with a period style design. The crossbar features two torches with a bow and each end has a carved flower. There is dentil moulding under the mantel and wheat sheaves at the top of each leg. The pine has been waxed at some point and the wood has a nice colour that highlights the natural grain. The fire surround has 3 marble slips within the surround opening. The marble has a very nice dark green colouration with white veins. The marble is attached to the fire but great care will be needed with collection and fitting. The surround is in good reclaimed condition with some small signs of use, as expected. The surround has some small knocks, scratches and chips from use. The pine does have some visible water stains, mainly to the feet and to the top of the mantel. There are some thin surface splits that do not affect the strength of the surround. The mantel edge has some small filled holes. There are some small areas where the cement is missing in-between the marble slip joins. The marble has some very small knocks to the edges. Please see pictures for details. The surround has a very attractive appearance and the marble slips make a fantastic addition. The surround is a well made item that would add great style to a fireplace.
