A reclaimed, decorative, carved pine fire surround. The surround has a very attractive appearance, with a period design featuring acanthus leaves and flowers that were popular in the Victorian era. There is egg and dart detailing below the mantel and the legs have carved ionic columns in relief. There is a pretty repeating border around the fire opening and the mantel has a shaped design. The pine has had a waxed finish at some point and the wood has a nice colour that highlights the natural wood grain. The fire surround could be paired with a cast iron insert or fire basket or used for decorative purposes. The surround is in good reclaimed condition with some small signs of use and wear. The pine has some small knocks, scratches and chips from use. One leg has a small knock, leaving a dark indentation. The feet have some small scuffs and stains. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround has a very ornate look and is ideal for both period or modern homes and would be a fantastic addition to a fireplace.
