A simple, reclaimed, antique pine fire surround. The surround is of a large size, ideal for a larger reception room and could be paired with a cast iron fire insert or fire basket. The surround has a simple design with the legs having slightly tapered outer edges and pencil mouldings that sit around the inner edges of the surround. The fire surround has had a waxed finish at some point after it was stripped but it could benefit from purchaser applying another coat of clear wax. The surround is a reclaimed antique and has some signs of wear and age. There are some holes and knocks, especially to the legs. The base edge of the left leg has had a repair. The surround has some paint residue. There are some marks and scratches visible. The moulding at the top of the fire opening has a small gap between it and the cross bar. There are some small filled wood knot holes. Please see pictures for condition details. The surrounds simple and traditional design makes it suited to both period and modern homes and would be the ideal item for finishing a fireplace, perhaps to compliment a decorative fire insert.
