SOLD

A pretty painted pine fire surround dating to the early Victorian era. The surround has a very nice, classic design with carved corbels featuring scrolls and leaves. The surround has been painted in white but there are chips, marks, splits and flaking to the paint and the surround will need sanding and re-finishing by purchaser to suit. The mantel is quite small and there is no overhang. The surround had a mirror above it and there are indentations and marks on the mantel where it sat. We can replace the mantel with a wider pine mantel for an extra £25. Please contact us if you would like this service. The surround is quite tall and the surround height could be altered. We can cut the legs to make the surround less tall, if required, free of charge. Please contact us to discuss your requirements. The surround is a reclaimed antique and has signs of wear and age. There are some knocks and chips to the pine. The beading around the inner edges is coming away in areas and there are some splits to the paint there. The base of the legs have some holes and marks. The back of the fire has some surface splits. Please see pictures for condition details. The surrounds pretty and traditional design makes it ideal for a period home and would be the ideal item for finishing a fireplace, perhaps to compliment a decorative fire insert.
