A decorative, reclaimed, original Edwardian pine fire surround. The large fire surround has a very ornate appearance, typical if the era, with decorative corbels that run along the crossbar and sit on a shelf above the fire opening. There is scalloped detailing in-between each corbel top and the mantel is large with moulded edging. The surround opening has decorative beading that has been painted cream. The legs of the surround have carved detailing and detailing to the feet. The pine has been painted white but the surround could be sanded and re-finished by purchaser if desired. The surround is of the perfect size for a living or dining room and would look fantastic paired with a cast iron fire insert or fire basket. The surround is in good solid condition with some signs of wear and age, as expected of reclaimed antiques. The right hand foot has a break and a cut out at the base but it is solid. There is a crack to the inner beading near the base of the left hand foot. The paint has some marks and chips and purchaser may wish to sand and re-paint the surround to suit. The surround has some small knocks and chips. The inner edge beading has some small holes. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround is a very nice example of Edwardian design and its size and appearance would make it a fantastic décor item for the home.
