Two reclaimed, Art Nouveau, cast iron fire surrounds, SOLD SEPARATLEY and priced at £595 PER SURROUND. The fire surrounds are labelled A and B, please let us know which one you require upon purchase, on a first come first served basis. Each surround has a traditional and classic appearance with a wreath and swag design on the cross bar. The opening has a decorative border surrounding it. The surrounds have been blacked and polished but please note there is some slight colour variation and patchiness. The fire surrounds have a model number and RD dating number which we believe to be RD 474676, dating each fire surround to 1906, although please note the RD number is hard to read. There are fixing lugs on each side, under the mantel (B has one replacement lug) and two lugs at the back of the mantel for sinking into the wall. The surrounds are ideal for pairing with a fire basket or wood burner. The fire surrounds are in good useable reclaimed condition with some signs of age and wear, as expected. The surrounds have some small knocks, pitting and casting marks, especially to the crossbar sections. The mantels have some small surface holes from casting. Surround B has sustained a break to the left hand fixing lug, when looking at the surround. The fixing lug has been replaced with a metal fixing tab but some slight damage can be seen. The fire surrounds have some slight colour variation to the finish. The back of each surround has some surface rust. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surrounds have a very nice period appearance which would add great character to a hearth.
