A reclaimed painted oak fire surround dating to the early half of the 20th century. The surround has a classic and traditional style appearance with moulded detailing under the mantel and down the legs. The oak has been painted white but there is chipping and cracking to the paint and purchaser may wish to sand and re-paint the surround to suit. The surround has a rebate on the inside of the legs that may need to be filled with fire slips, depending on the way the surround is going to be used. The surround is of a good size for a reception room or larger bedroom and could be paired with a cast iron fire insert or fire basket. The fire surround is in reclaimed condition with some signs of age and some damage as expected. The mantel has a crack to the front edge which we will repair with wood glue, included in the price. The mantel has some holes and the surround has some knocks and chips. Please see pictures for condition details. The surrounds simple and attractive design makes it ideal for a period or modern home and will make a nice feature for a fireplace.
