A very pretty, reclaimed, painted pine Edwardian fire surround dating to C.1910. The surround has a classic and traditional style appearance and is of a good size for a living or dining room, ideal for pairing with a fire inset. The fire surround has a decorative cross bar with pretty designs of the period. The surround has mouldings, in relief, around the opening. The pine has been painted white but there is chipping and cracking to the paint and some writing on the mantel and purchaser will need to sand and re-finish the fire surround to suit. The back of the fire has a label from the maker W. N. Froy & Sons. There is a gap of approx 7mm between the back of the legs and where the fire will sit against a wall. Purchaser could apply slate fire slips or fill with plaster when the surround is fitted. Please speak to your builder for advice. The fire surround is in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of age and wear as expected. The pine has some knocks and chips. There is a knock to the moulding at the base of one foot. The feet bases have some damage and chipping on the inside edges. There is a wood knot on the inside of the surround that has left a scoop out of the back edge. Please see pictures for condition details.  The surrounds attractive design makes it ideal for a period home and will make a nice feature for a fireplace.
