A large and elegant, reclaimed, antique painted pine fire surround. The surround has a very ornate appearance and its substantial size makes it a very desirable item. The crossbar has a central panel with a fan and scroll design. The corners of the crossbar bar each have a flower in a circle. The mantel has a cut out detail and a pretty boarder. There is dentil moulding under the mantel. The surround has a border in relief that runs down the legs and the outer edges. The inner leg sections have a delicate design with bows and flowers. The fire surround has been painted white but there are chips and flaking to the paint and purchaser may wish to sand and re-paint the surround to suit. The surround is in good antique condition with some signs of age and wear. The surround has some small knocks and chips and some splintering to the back edges of the legs. There is some paint missing at the sides of the feet. There is a crack to one of the flower decorations. The left hand edge of the mantel has a cut mark at the back. The mantel has two deep grooves cut out of it where fixings were once attached. We can patch repair the cut outs on the mantel top, for an extra charge, please contact us for details. There is some glue or similar on the mantel. The fire has some residue concrete splatters. Please see pictures for condition details. The surround could be paired with a cast iron fire insert or fire basket and is a very nice example of period design and craftsmanship and it would make a wonderful addition to a home.
