A very large, decorative, reclaimed painted pine fire surround with mirror. The fire surround is antique and in the Neo-Georgian style. The fire surround has a serpentine mantel and underneath, there is Adam style decoration along the cross bar with shell and acanthus leaf designs. There is an egg and dart boarder around the fire opening. The fire surround has a large top that sits on the mantel, with decorative bows and flowers and a mirror that is fitted into the centre. This section has a mantel style top. The top section can be removed and the fire surround used on its own (picture 2). If the top is not required we can sell the surround only for £595. Please contact us before purchase if you would like to buy the fire surround without the mirrored top section.
The fire surround is in good reclaimed condition with some signs of age and use, as expected. The mantel is a replacement as the original was damaged. There are some knocks and chips to the pine. The back of the legs have some splinters. The paint has some knocks, some stains and marks. The back of the legs have some missing paint from where it was previously fitted. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround is a very nice example of Neo-Georgian design and it would make a wonderful addition to a fireplace.
