A very large, reclaimed, painted pine Edwardian fire surround. The surround has a traditional Edwardian appearance with a shelf and corbels. Above the shelf there are four panels, with pretty arched tops. There is dentil moulding under the mantel and decorative motifs in the top corners. The surround is painted in several colours but the paint is fading, chipping and flaking and you will need to sand and re-paint the surround to suit. There are some metal tabs for fixing the fire to the wall but you may wish to replace these.
The surround is in solid and useable condition with some signs of age and some damage, as expected of reclaimed antiques. The paint has some knocks and chips and the sides of the feet are missing some paint. There is some damage to the top right hand side of the mantel. The mantel has been knocked and there is a section of wood that is coming away (picture 9). You may wish to repair this. The other side of the mantel has also had a knock and some damage. The corners and edges have some knocks and splintering. There are some nails in the pine and some small holes. There is a larger hole to the side of one of the legs. The feet have some knocks. Please see pictures for condition details. The surround is of a very large size, ideal for a large reception room or restaurant ect. The surround will make a fantastic statement piece for a room.
