A reclaimed, decorative, elegant carved pine fire surround. The surround is a vintage reproduction of traditional designs of the late Victorian period. The fire surround has a very attractive appearance, with acanthus leaves and a shell design, in the centre of the crossbar, similar to designs that were popular in the Victorian era. There is dentil moulding under the mantel and carved half flowers. There is an egg and dart style border that runs down the outside edges of the legs and the inner edges have a pretty flower border. The pine has had a varnished or waxed finish. The feet have cut outs to fit a hearth but we can cut the base of the feet to level them, if required. Please contact us to discuss this. The fire surround could be paired with a cast iron insert or fire basket or used for decorative purposes. The surround is in good reclaimed condition with some signs of use, as expected. There are some small knocks and chips to the pine and there are some small splinters. The crossbar has had a thin filled wood knot. There is some staining to the pine, especially along the mantel. The pine has some scratches and marks. There is some residue paint to the back of the legs. The fixing tabs have some residue paint and tarnish. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround has a very ornate look and is ideal for a period home, making a fantastic addition to a fireplace.
