An elegant, petite, reclaimed Art Deco cast iron fire surround. The fire surround has a simple and elegant design with recessed panels along the crossbar and down the legs and it has a large mantel. The fire has two fixing lugs, one on either side, under the mantel. Please note, the right hand fixing lug has some hard metal that is filling some of the lug hole but it is not all covered. The cast iron has been blacked and polished and has a nice finish. The fire surround is in good reclaimed condition with some small signs of use and age, as expected. The surround has some casting marks and pitting, especially to the feet. The mantel has some holes, pitting and indentations and there is a knock to the front edge. There are some small scratches and marks to the iron. The back of the surround has surface rust, as expected. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround is of a nice petite size, ideal for a bedroom or smaller reception room and would look nice surrounding a wood burner or fire basket or used for decorative purposes. The surrounds simple and elegant appearance is ideal for adding character to both modern and period properties.
