A simple and attractive, reclaimed, Art Deco oak fire surround. The surround has a design traditional to the era, with a raised diamond in the centre of the crossbar. There are decorative corbels on either side, under the mantel and the fire opening has a raised border around it. The oak is of a nice colour and has an interesting grain. There are metal fixing lugs on either side of the surround but they do have surface rust and some paint residue and you may wish to replace them. The surround is ideal for framing a cast iron insert and is of a good size for a reception room. The fire surround is in reclaimed antique condition with some signs of age and damage and it is sold as seen. The feet have some separation to the joins where the oak foot pieces meet. The sides of the legs have some paint residue. The oak has some staining and discolouration. There are some surface cracks and some knocks to the oak. The back edge of the mantel has indentations and some unevenness. Please see pictures for condition details. The classic and simple design of the fire surround makes it ideal for a period or modern property and would make a nice addition to a hearth.
