A reclaimed, decorative, elegant carved pine fire surround. The surround is a more modern reproduction of period designs and dates to C.1979. The fire surround has a pretty design with flowers and fluting along the crossbar. There is dentil moulding under the mantel. There is a simple border around the fire opening. The border is slightly shorter than the feet of the surround, perhaps so it fitted in the original hearth. You could cut the base of the feet to level it with the border, if desired, this would reduce the height of the surround by approximately 3cm (please see picture 5 for details of the feet). The pine has a nice colour and appears to have had a waxed or stained finish at some point. The inner edges of the legs have a rebate. The surround is in good reclaimed condition with some signs of use, as expected. There are some small knocks, splinters and chips to the pine. There is some paint residue and discolouration on the sides and insides of the legs and on the back edge of the mantel. There are some scratches and some areas of fluting along the crossbar with some discolouration. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround has a nice appearance and is ideal for a period or modern home, making a good addition to a fireplace.
