Code: FS0376
Dimensions:
A very large and heavy, reclaimed, carved oak fire surround. The fire surround has a very handsome appearance with a shaped mantel edge with mouldings. There is a fantastic egg and dart border under the mantel and there are decorative corbels on each side of the crossbar. There is a heavy moulded border that runs up the legs and along the bottom of the crossbar. The fire surround is in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of age and wear, as expected. The oak has some knocks and chips. There have been repairs to both side edges of the mantel and the joins can be seen. The right hand side replacement oak is longer that the back of the mantel. We will cut this for sale but the replacement piece may need securing fully. The mantel edges have some knocks and there are some scuffs and marks to the oak. You may wish to do more work to the fire surround's finish as there is evidence of residue paint and it has a rustic appearance. The mantel top has patchiness. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround has an imposing look and would make a fantastic period feature for a room.
