Code: FS0413
Dimensions:
A reclaimed vintage pine fire surround with carved detailing. The fire surround has an elegant period style appearance with an urn and swags along the crossbar in the Adam style, a style favoured in the late Victorian period. The ends of the crossbar each have a large carved flower on them. The legs have fluted detailing and the mantel side and front edges have a delicate repeating border. The pine has a nice colour and wood grain and the fire surround appears to have had a waxed finish.
The surround is in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of use and wear, as expected. The pine has some small knocks, holes, scratches and splintering, especially to the feet. The pine has some discolouration in places and there is some residue paint or similar in the fluting grooves. The back edge of the mantel has some discolouration and some knocks and splintering. The front edge corners of the mantel have some splintering and knocks. The fixing tabs have some tarnish. The feet have some stains. The back of the surround has some residue adhesive. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire surround has a lovely period style design and it would finish a fireplace nicely.
