A very pretty, petite, original early Victorian or late Georgian cast iron fire trim, suitable for surrounding a small wood burner or fire basket. The cast iron trim has been very finely cast and has a lovely arched opening that is complimented by a heavily decorative border. The trim has been cleaned and has a very nice silvery finish. The trim has a dating kite mark on the back and although it is hard to read we can date it to pre 1884 when the dating system changed. The trim is in good, useable condition, however due to its considerable age there are some small signs of wear and use. The iron has some small casting marks, pitting, scratches and knocks.  The back of the trim has some surface rust. The top of the trim has a mark along it, left from where it was previously used. Please see pictures for condition details. The trim is a fantastic example of Victorian design, is a very desirable item and is ideal for a period home.
