A very pretty, original, reclaimed Art Nouveau cast iron fire trim. The fire trim has a beautiful design, typical of the Art Nouveau period, and the trim dates to C.1900-1910. Each of the top corners have a flowing leaf design and there is elegant detailing at the feet. The inner decorative part of the fire stands out from the outer plain edges. The cast iron has been blacked and polished and has a good colour and finish. The trim is designed to fit around a fireplace opening with a wood burner or fire basket. The fire trim is in very good antique condition with some small signs of age and use. The fire has some small knocks, pitting and casting marks. There are some small holes left from casting on the cross bar. The back has some surface rust, as expected. The inner edge of the feet have some slight cut outs where they fitted within a hearth. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire trim is a lovely example of Art Nouveau design and its attractive and refined appearance would be suited to both period and modern properties, brining character and period charm to a hearth.
