A pretty, original, reclaimed cast iron fire trim, likely to date to the late Victorian period. The fire trim has a nice period design with a repeating border in relief around the opening, featuring flowers and fluting. The cast iron has been blacked and polished and has a good colour and finish. The trim is designed to fit around a fireplace opening that has a wood burner or fire basket. The fire trim is in very good antique condition with some small signs of age and use. The fire trim has some small knocks, pitting, casting marks and some patches of roughness. The back has some surface rust, as expected. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire trim is a lovely example of period design and its attractive and refined appearance would suit many types of property, brining character and period charm to a hearth.
