Dimensions:
A decorative, original, reclaimed cast iron fire trim, likely to date to C.1900 - 1910. The fire trim has a very nice period design with panels with flower and leaf designs within them. The cast iron has been blacked and polished and has a good colour and finish. The trim is designed to fit around a fireplace opening with a wood burner or fire basket. The fire trim is in solid antique condition with some signs of age and use, as expected. The fire trim has some small knocks, some pitting and casting marks. The pitting is more noticeable along the top edge. The outer edges have some small notches out of them. There are some cut marks to the inner edges of the feet and the cross bar. The back has surface rust, as expected. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire trim is a lovely example of period design and its attractive and refined appearance would be suited to both period and modern properties, brining character and period charm to a hearth.
