Dimensions:
A decorative, original, reclaimed cast iron fire trim, likely to date to C.1900. The fire trim has a very nice period design with a repeated border with flowers and leaves. The cast iron has been blacked and polished. The trim is designed to fit around a fireplace opening with a wood burner or fire basket. The fire trim is in good antique condition with some signs of age and use, as expected. The fire trim has some small knocks, pitting and casting marks. The finish has some slight streaking. The top inner edge has been trimmed slightly and some bare metal can be seen. The back has surface rust, as expected. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire trim is a lovely example of period design and its attractive and refined appearance would be suited to both period and modern properties, brining character and period charm to a hearth.
