A reclaimed original Art Deco, cast iron, wood burner, C.1930. The wood burner is sold as seen with some wear and signs of age and is only suited to garden use as it does not have a HETAS safety stamp and WOULD NOT meet safety requirements for use inside. The wood burner, therefore, would make a lovely garden heater / fire. The "Siesta" wood burner has a very attractive design, typical of the era, with fretwork above the doors and reeded detailing on either side of the fire. The wood burner comprises of two parts, the outer cover and the centre which is separate and can be removed from the outer cover. The centre of the wood burner has small double doors that cover the grill and an ashpan below. The heavy top plate of the decorative metal cover can be removed. The wood burner is a reclaimed antique and does have wear and some damage. There is a hole in one of the mica panels and some dents. The metal has surface rust, marks and knocks and the remaining black paint has chips. The grill has warped and broken from use and the fire bricks at the back are broken, although some of the pieces have been retained. Please see pictures for condition details. The wood burner has a very pretty Art Deco design and would be a lovely addition to the garden.
