A handsome and substantial, reclaimed, original Georgian six panel pine door. The door is solid, heavy and well made and has a traditional design of the period, with six raised and fielded panels on one face and recessed panels with mouldings on the other face. The door has been painted white but the paint is flaking, chipping and has marks and the door will need to be sanded and re-painted by purchaser to suit. The door has been used internally but purchaser could convert the door for external use, if desired. The door has one very solid and unusual hinge but the other hinge is broken and has a section missing. The door is in good antique condition with some signs of wear commensurate with age. There are some holes and light damage where door hardware has been removed. We can patch repair the larger hardware holes for an extra charge, please contact us for details and a quote. The door has some small knocks and chips, especially to the corners and base edges. One hinge is broken and the other has some tarnish. There are some thin surface splits that do not affect the strength of the door. The door height may need slight levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is a lovely example of traditional Georgian design and it has fantastic character. The door is a very well made and desirable item, ideal for a period home.
