A pair of very large original Georgian, arched, painted pine doors for refurbishment. The doors each have two panels at the base with bolection moulding and several panels above, glazed with clear glass. Please note, one panel is missing and the remaining glass WILL NOT MEET CURRENT SAFETY REQUIREMENTS AND MUST BE CHANGED BEFORE USE. Each door is shaped at the top so they form an arch when closed together and the inner edges of the doors have a rebate. The external face of the doors have a drip bar at the base.
Due to their considerable age, the doors are in need of refurbishment and are sold as seen. The doors may not be suited to external use at present. There are cracks and splits in the wood. Some of the glazing putty has cracked and broken away. There are missing sections of bolection moulding and decorative beading on both faces. Some areas have had large patch repairs and infills, including the inner edge of one door. The pine has knocks, chips and damage. The paint is flaking and chipping and the doors will need sanding and re-painting to suit. The lock may not work. One door has some damage to the outer edge, where the wood is breaking away and it has screws to keep it in place. There are some holes from hardware removal. The doors are a little wobbly when you push them and strengthening to the joints will be required. The drip bars have some damage. Please see pictures for condition details. Once re-furbished, the doors will be fantastic statement items for the home.
