DI0792 RECLAIMED UNRESTORED INTERNAL SINGLE CRITTALL DOOR & FRAME

Code: DI0792

SOLD

A reclaimed, original 1930's, unrestored steel single internal crittall door and frame. The door is solid with a nice industrial feel. The door and frame retain some old paint that will need to be removed. We have wire brushed a section of the door to show the finish under the paint, which is a silver metal, and this can be seen in photograph 5. We used a wire brush fitting on a drill to achieve this and we can advise purchaser on how to do this or we can wire brush the door and frame back to bare metal for an extra charge, please contact us for a quote. The door will need to be glazed and we can glaze the door with 4mm toughened glass, for an extra charge. When glazing crittall doors we add a tapered oak beading, sprayed black, to the inside face of the door. Please contact us for a quote for glazing the door and adding the oak beading. Purchaser could paint the door black to achieve the popular look that crittall doors often have. Please contact us if you need any advice about finishing the door. The door has a brass lock and handles but this will need to be brushed back and polished before use. There is no key for the lock. Please note the door is only suited for internal use. The door and frame are in solid condition with some signs of age. There is some surface rust and there is flaking to the paint. There are some small knocks and scratches. The brass lock has tarnish. There are some thin metal wires around the frame edge that may need removing. Please see pictures for condition details. The door has much original charm and a great industrial look. Crittall doors are currently extremely popular and once restored it will be a perfect showpiece for the home.
