A very elegant, reclaimed, painted cast iron over mantel mirror. The mirror is likely to date to the late Victorian / Early Edwardian period and has an abundance of period charm. The bevelled mirror sits in a cast iron frame with scrolling sides and a prettily shaped top. The sides feature acanthus leaves and the top section of the mirror has a repeating flower pattern and scroll cut outs. The mirror has mantel detailing under the decorative top and fluted detail. The cast iron has been painted white but there are some knocks and chips to the paint and you may wish to strip and re-paint the mirror to suit. The mirror currently does not have any way to secure it to the wall, please contact us to discuss options. The mirror is in good reclaimed condition, with some signs of age and use. The mirror has some small scratches, marks, imperfections and stains to the glass. There are some knocks and chips to the paint. The back of the mirror has surface rust. The mirror is the ideal item for adding period character to a wall or over a mantel and its elegant period design would make it a lovely interior item.
