A very interesting and unusual reclaimed cast iron trestle from the Hawker Siddeley WW2 aircraft factory. The trestle dates to the 1930's and has a very striking industrial look. The trestle was designed to have an adjustable height but the adjustment mechanism has seized but some work by purchaser could be carried out to try and un-seize the mechanism so the height can be adjusted. The trestle could make a unique feature in an industrial space and has many interesting components including the wheels at the base and large turning handles for working the adjustment mechanism. The trestle is reclaimed and therefore has some signs of age that add to its character. The iron has surface rust, some marks, knocks and scratches. Please see pictures for condition details. The trestle would make a fantastic design item and its history makes it a fascinating item for a home or work shop environment.
