A reclaimed, ornately carved, pine fire section or mantel. The carved piece is likely to date to C.1900 and has a beautiful appearance with repeating flower and acanthus leaf designs and decorative patterns. The carved pine section was originally the mantel of a pine fire surround and purchaser could use this section as a project to create a new fire surround or it could be used for another interior project such as a decorative cornice / pelmet. The pine is stripped to bare wood but does have some discolouration and dark staining. Purchaser may wish to paint, varnish or stain the pine to suit. The mantel is in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of age, as expected of reclaimed antiques. There are some knocks and chips and the top of the mantel has some splintering and knocks to the corners. The top of the mantel has some residue tape and marks. The top front edge has a dent left from a wood knot and there are some further wood knots. One side edge has some damage. There are some thin surface splits but the mantel is solid and stable. Please see pictures for condition details. The carved fire section is a beautiful and ornate item that would make a wonderful feature within a home.
