Code: M2235
A pretty, reclaimed, Godin Bruxelles enamel coal stove, C.1900. The stove was designed for cooking and there are top plates, an area for adding coal and inner trays for cooking. Both doors open, on on either side, and the doors have decorative scrolling leaves on them and the makers name on the inside. The cast iron has been enamelled in brown and some of the original enamel is present. The stove has a metal tool for removing the top plates.
The stove has some signs of age and has had some damage that has been repaired but it is best suited for decorative / prop purposes as the coal ash tray is bolted shut. The stove had been dragged by the legs and both were broken. The legs have been repaired using metal plates and bolts, seen on the underside of the stove and the bolt heads can be seen on the legs. The legs have some cracks but they are secure as long as the fire is not dragged or pulled and is treated with care. The top of the stove has a cracked plate. The output flue on the side has cracks and damage. There is some rust to the inside of the tube and on the inside of the stove throughout. The enamel has some losses and some enamel work has been carried out to the legs and over the securing bolts. There are some scratches and knocks to the iron and some gold paint residue. Please see pictures for condition details. The stove is a very pretty item that would be ideal for decorative purposes.
