An elegant and finely made reclaimed oak glazed door with frame. The door is very well made with gunstock stiles and it has an attractive design with diamond detailing made from oak mouldings at the base of the door, surrounded by clear glass. Above this, the door has a large glazed panel. The door has been glazed with 7mm laminate safety glass. The oak has been sanded to bare wood and left untreated, ready for you to finish as desired.
The door does have a cup or bow that runs the length of the door. We have put a straight edge against the door to show the gap that the cup leaves (see last four pictures for details). We have made an oak frame to surround the door and work with the cup so the door is useable. The door sits nicely within the frame but please note that the cup can be seen slightly on the back face when in the frame ( see pictures 12 & 13 for details). The frame has been designed so that when looking at the door the hinges are on the left and the door opens away from you, with the handle on the right. The door could have the hinges on the right and the handle on the left but the door would open towards you. We recommend that the door is used internally. The door could possibly be used externally but this would mean that the cup is very likely to get worse over time. Please contact us if you require any information about the cup / bow in the door.
The door has some marks, knocks and holes from door furniture removal. There are some small scratches and knocks to the oak. There are some dark marks visible in the oak. One top corner has some splits. One of the bottom glazing bars of the large panel is bowing upwards slightly. Please see pictures for condition details. The door has a very nice look and it would make a great feature in a home.
