A very handsome Arts and Crafts movement oak front door with large frame and glazed overlight. The door is solid and well made with mortise and tenon joints. The door features 2 vertical recessed panels and has an iron letterbox set into the centre rail. The door is surrounded by a thick oak frame and has a decorative glazed overlight with Deco style, fan design. The overlight is glazed with plain glass and this has no breaks or cracks. The oak has a good colour and grain. Purchaser will need to apply a finish to the oak suitable for exterior use. The door is in very good reclaimed condition but has some signs of use, as expected of antique items. The door has some small marks and knocks, especially to the edges and corners. There are some small surface cracks to the frame that do not affect its strength. There are some holes and marks to the door and frame left from hardware removal. We can patch repair holes for an extra charge, please contact us for details. The frame has some nails and metal attached to the outer edges. The old door bell and some hardware will need to be removed. Some discolouration to the frame varnish can be seen and purchaser may wish to strip and re-finish to suit. Most hardware will need to be provided by purchaser. The door is a lovely example of Arts and Crafts design and is very well made, making it perfect for adding character to a home.
