A very substantial and attractive, reclaimed, oak external door and frame. The door is very heavy and well made and has a gothic style appearance with very pretty carved detailing. The door comprises of thick oak planks with oak cover strips on the front face and the top of the door is arched in the Gothic style. The top of the frame, above the arch, has carved flowers and leaves. The door retains its traditional, Gothic style, door furniture which is a fantastic feature. The front face has two large iron door straps with Gothic detailing and a barley twist pull handle attached to a decorative iron plate. There are iron bolts on the back face of the door and a thumb latch. Please note, the lock will need to be changed as there is no key for the door. The frame has had a replacement oak sill. The oak has a varnished or stained finish, with a darker finish on the front face. The door is in good solid condition with some signs of age and wear, as expected of reclaimed items. There are some splits, slight damage, grooves and splinters in the frame. The frame has some holes and marks from hardware removal. There is some separation to some of the joints. The oak of the frame has a rustic texture. The door has some knocks, chips and some scratches. There is some tarnish and surface rust to the metal door furniture. The oak has some discolouration and the sill is a replacement and is unstained. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is of a very good quality and has a very handsome Gothic / cottage style appearance that would be fantastic for adding character and charm to a home.
