A very handsome, reclaimed, antique solid oak front door. The door is substantial and well made with mortise and tenon joints. The door has a very nice appearance with 3 panels at the base with linenfold detailing. The top of the door has three panels, ready for glazing, and the top edges are shaped to form a Gothic style pointed arch. We can glaze the door for an extra charge, please contact us to discuss your requirements and for a quote. The door has a lock with a receiver and 5 keys. The front face of the door has been painted black but it has some chips, flaking and scratches and purchaser may wish to sand and re-paint the door to suit. The back face of the door has had a varnished finish. The door has three good brass hinges and an iron letter plate. The base of the door has a drip bar. The door has a slight twist of approximately 8mm which is quite usual for a reclaimed door of this size but it will require a patient fitter. The door is in solid reclaimed condition but has had some repairs and has some signs of age and use, as expected. The door has some surface cracks and some knocks. The top of the door has had some repairs to the joints, with some pegs and strengthening joints added to the top edge and it is now very solid. There are some holes from hardware removal and some smaller holes have been filled. We can patch repair the larger hole for an extra charge, please contact us for a quote. There is some residue window putty around the glazing panels. The lock has some scratches. The iron letter plate has some tarnish and marks. The door height may need slight levelling.
