A handsome and well made reclaimed oak front door. The door comprises of a mortise and tenon jointed frame with oak plank front face. The door has a small glazed panel with glazing bead. The glass is one single piece and is NOT toughened, therefore it will not meet current safety standards. The glass MUST be changed before use. The front face of the door has been varnished to highlight the oaks attractive wood grain. The back face has been painted white. The door has an iron letterplate with door knocker and there are several locks, although the door has no keys and purchaser will need to change the locks. The door is of a good size but could be re-sized to a standard size of 83.8cm wide and 198.2cm high, without affecting the aesthetic or structural integrity of the door. The door is in good reclaimed condition with some signs of use and age, as expected. The door has some small knocks and chips. The varnished face has some flaking and marks and the paint on the back face has chips and knocks. Purchaser may wish to sand and re-finish the door to suit. There are some splinters and light damage where the old hinges sat. The iron door furniture has some tarnish and surface rust. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is an attractive reclaimed item and of a good size making it ideal for adding character to a home.
