A reclaimed, rustic, oak door suited to a cottage or for use as a garden gate. The door has considerable age and has a rustic appearance. The door comprises of six oak planks with cover strips on the front face and a ledge and brace construction on the back face. The door has two large iron strap hinges and an iron bolt on the back face. The door has a space for letters but we could change this and expand the space and add a decorative metal grill, for an extra charge. Please see the last photograph for details of the metal grill and contact us to discuss this and for a quote.
The door is antique and has signs of wear, damage and age, as expected. There are splits and cracks in the oak. The door has some movement in it and the cover strips on the front face are loose. The door has some small holes left by staples and there may be some staples or staple pieces left. The back face of the door has some damage and some holes where door hardware has been removed. One cover strip on the front face has been cut to accommodate hardware that has now been removed and a hole is left. The oak has discolouration, staining and weathering. There are some scratches, knocks and some chips out of the corners and edges. The ledge ends have some splits and cracks. The hinges and bolt have surface rust. The door width and height may need slight levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The door has great character and rustic charm and is ideal for a cottage or for use as a garden gate.
