A handsome reclaimed oak front / external door. The door comprises of oak planks on the front face, attached to oak side rails and ledges, that are seen on the back face. The door is held with screws that are covered with oak pegs, seen on the back face of the door. The top and bottom edges of the door show the way the door is constructed and you can see the two layers of oak (see last picture). The top of the door has a panel for glazing. We can glaze the door for an extra charge, please contact us to discuss your requirements and for a quote. The door has two large decorative iron strap hinges with a Gothic appearance. The oak has been sanded to bare wood and oiled, highlighting the lovely grain of the wood.
The door is in good reclaimed condition with some signs of use and age, as expected. The door has had a patch repair and the slip of oak can be seen. There are some holes and marks from hardware removal. The glazing panel has some residue putty. The oak has some knocks and chips. The side edges have some wood filler applied. The hinges have some tarnish. The door width may need slight levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is an attractive reclaimed item, ideal for adding character to a home.
