A very large, wide, reclaimed antique French oak door. The door has an elegant 6 panel appearance with raised and fielded panels of varying sizes. The door has a great deal of charm and is suited to internal use. The door can be converted in to a sliding door or used as a decorative screen. The oak has been painted white and has an attractive rustic finish but it could be stripped and repainted by purchaser to suit. Some of the original door furniture is present, all adding original character to the door. There are metal braces chased in to the corners to add extra strength to the very large door. As expected of reclaimed antiques, there are some signs of wear and light damage. The paint has a cracking and flaking, especially to the back face and there are stains, scratches and marks. The door furniture has some surface rust and tarnish and there is no key for the lock. New hardware will need to be supplied by purchaser as required. The sides and edges of the door have some knocks and notches. There are some thin surface cracks to the panels. The door width may need slight levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is a lovely decorative piece that would also be ideal for making in to a sliding door, with the addition of a sliding door kit. The door is perfect for adding style to a barn interior, or rustic style home and is a desirable reclaimed item.
