A pair of handsome reclaimed stripped oak doors with glazed diamond glass, suitable for internal use. The doors are solid, very heavy and well made with oak outer frames and a large panel in each door that has been glazed with clear diamond leaded glass. The top of the panels are shaped. Each door has two metal saddle bars across the glass. One door has iron handles and a lock with key. The internal face of the doors have some slide bolts. Please note that the side rails are slightly less high than the centre sections of the doors and therefore there is a slight height difference between the edges and centre of the doors. The inner edges of the doors have a closing bead. The side edges of the doors have a groove that runs from the top to the bottom. The internal face of the doors are pictured with clamps, this is so they could be held in place for the photographs.
The doors are in solid reclaimed condition with some signs of age and wear, as expected. The glass is bowing in areas and therefore the doors are only suitable for internal use. The oak has some staining and marks and you may wish to sand the doors further before applying a finish. There are some chips, knocks and thin surface splits in the oak. Some of the glazing putty is missing. The saddle bars and door furniture have surface rust. The hinges have seized and will need replacing. The inner edge of one door has some slight damage to the bottom corner. The door heights may need slight levelling. The glass will need further cleaning. Please see pictures for condition details. The doors are handsome and nicely made and they would add great character to a room.
