A very old reclaimed oak plank door, dating to C.1680. The charming rustic door has been constructed using three large oak planks and it has ledges on the back face. The door has been hand stripped on the front face to reveal the beautiful rich aged colour of the oak. The back face of the door is painted but the paint has flaking and chipping and you may wish to sand this face. The door has two hinge straps but please note these do not match and there is some damage to them and some surface rust and you may need to replace them. The back face of the door has had a kick plate and a wooden pull handle added.

The door is very rustic and has character signs of its considerable age. The door has splits and cracks in the oak but it is in solid condition. The base of the door has wear and damage and there is an indentation where a kick plate has been removed. The oak has some holes, knocks and gouges. There are some thin gaps between the planks. The door edges are uneven and rough from age. The back of the door has some indentations and old nails where door furniture has been removed. The front face of the door has some areas with residue paint. The oak has some colour variation. The door height varies slightly from one side to the other. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is a fantastic antique item with great rustic character and it would make a wonderful feature for a cottage or period home.
