A pair of beautiful Victorian pine doors with stained glass panels. The doors are suited to internal or external use and have been stripped to bare wood, ready for finishing by purchaser to suit, perhaps with a paint finish. The doors date to C.1890 and have lovely detailing with a chamfered edge and hand carved castellation on the inner face. The external face of the doors have plain panels with a moulded edge. The doors sit nicely together and have a rebated edge. Originally used as porch doors, the lower panels have been replaced as they were in poor condition. The doors each have a large stained glass panel which retains the original glass. The pale yellow and green glass is of a good colour and nice design. There are some breaks and cracks to the glass but repairs to the glass are included in the price and will be completed for purchaser before collection. If the doors are to be used externally we can quote for 4mm toughened glass to be fitted to the front of the stained glass panels. The doors are in good antique condition but do have some signs of use and wear, as expected. There are some knocks, marks, splinters and chips to the wood and some scoops out of the wood. The doors have some small holes from hardware removal and there have been patch repairs to letterbox holes and hardware holes. One door has a hole to the outer edge under the hinge. The height may need slight levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The doors have wonderful character and decorative detailing and are a fine example of Victorian design. The doors are ideal for use in a porch or for an interior project and are very desirable.
