A pair of handsome reclaimed oak doors suited to interior use. The doors are solid, heavy and well made. The oak has an attractive grain and good colouration and has been cleaned to bare wood ready for finishing by purchaser, with either a wax, oil or paint. The doors have a lovely period appearance, each featuring four recessed panels and thick rails. We believe the top rails have been lowered and are pegged and not mortised and tenoned but the doors have mortise and tenon joints below the top rail. The doors are in good antique condition but do have some slight signs of use and wear. There are some knocks, marks and chips, especially to the edges and corners. The doors have had some infills to the joints and patch repairs and the top rail has been pegged. The doors do have some small surface splits that do not affect their strength. There are some holes from hardware removal and the hinge removal has left some notches at the sides of the doors. We can patch repair these for an extra charge, please contact us for details and a quote. The door heights may need slight levelling. Hardware will need to be supplied by purchaser. Please see pictures for condition details. The doors have great character and would be ideal for adding charm to a home.
