A pair of very tall, handsome, Victorian stripped pine internal French doors. The doors are solid and well made, with mortise and tenon joints and gunstock detailing and are likely to date to C.1890. The front and back face of the doors have been hand stripped but the edges still have some black paint. We recommend the doors are finished with paint, to suit. The doors have a lovely appearance, each featuring a recessed panel surrounded by bolection moulding on the external face. Each door has a large top panel ready for glazing. We can glaze the doors for an extra charge, please contact us to discuss your requirements and for a quote. The doors have a rebated edge so they sit nicely together. The doors are suited for internal use only, due to age, but were used externally and do have a letter box space. We can patch repair the hole for £30, please let us know at time of purchase if you would like this service. The doors do have some signs of age and wear and some damage, as expected of antique items. The pine has been stripped apart from the edges that retain some black paint. The doors have some filler, patch repairs and an in-fill patch on one face of the panels and the other has a ply panel attached to strengthen the bolection moulding. The doors have some splintering, chips and knocks and there are some small holes. The doors have some indentations, marks and some surface cracks but the doors are solid and stable. The wood has some stains and marks. Hardware will need to be supplied by purchaser. Please see pictures for condition details. The doors, once glazed and finished, would be perfect for adding period charm to a home and are of a good size and design.
