A pair of attractive, reclaimed, large ex-school oak glazed doors. The doors are very well made, with mortise and tenon joints and are solid and heavy. The doors have a good design, with each door having two recessed panels with mouldings at its base. The top of each door has 9 glazed panels that are fitted with clear, wired safety glass and some panels have a film applied. The oak has been waxed or varnished and has a lovely deep colour that accentuates the attractive wood grain and medullary rays. Please note one side has a darker finish than the other and there are some scratches, marks and discolouration and purchaser may wish to sand and refinish the doors to suit. There are oak kick plates added to one face of each door. The doors have been used internally but could perhaps be converted to be used as external doors. The doors have a slightly rounded outer edge. The doors are in solid condition with some signs of use and wear, as expected of reclaimed items. There are some marks, knocks and scratches, especially to the edges and corners. There is a split to one of the glazing bars. There are some small holes and discolouration where door hardware has been removed. The door heights may need slight levelling. One door has a surface split above the solid panels but this does not affect the structural integrity of the doors. Please see pictures for condition details. The doors have a handsome appearance and they will make a fantastic addition to a home.
PLEASE NOTE: We have 2 more pairs of doors available in this design. Please contact us for details.
