A very large, grand and imposing pair of antique reclaimed external oak doors. The doors are extremely heavy, thick and well made with mortise and tenon joints and have a fantastic, period, appearance. The external face of each door has two raised and fielded panels, a large panel over a smaller panel, with mouldings around the edges. The internal face has recessed panels. The doors have a rebated edge so they sit nicely together when closed. The door has a lock and key but other hardware will need to be supplied by purchaser. The oak currently has a dark varnish or stain but purchaser may wish to sand and re-finish the doors to suit. Please note, one of the inner edges has had a large patch repair, that can be seen on the external face and the edge of the door. We believe the patch repair was not done using oak and if the doors are stripped the different wood will be noticeable, however, if the doors are painted by purchaser the patch will not be quite so visible. The doors are in solid condition with some signs of wear and some damage, as expected of reclaimed items. The inner face of one door has a large gouge out of the wood, above the handle hole. We will patch repair this damage, free of charge. There is a piece of moulding missing at the base of one of the external panels. There are some scratches, small holes and knocks to the oak throughout. The doors have holes, marks and slight damage where door hardware has been removed. We can patch repair hardware holes for an extra charge, if required. Please contact us for details and a quote. One panel has a surface crack but it is solid and stable. Please see pictures for condition details. The doors are of a rare, very large, size and have a fantastic traditional look. Ideal for the entranceway of a period home or business, the doors have great character and charm.
