A pair of very large, reclaimed, oak cathedral doors for external use. The doors have a planked appearance and have an arched top. The oak had a dark stain or varnished finish but it is now faded and the doors will need sanding and re-finishing to suit. The doors are solid and very heavy and are of a good construction but they have some damage from age and use and the doors are sold as seen. The base of the doors have softness and damage and some oak has broken away. There are some knocks and damage to the top of the doors. The doors have had some repairs already, where oak has been patched in and the joins can be seen. The doors have holes and marks where door hardware has been removed. The oak has some knocks, chips and cracks and there are some scratches and marks to the surface of the wood. We can restore the base and top of the doors for an extra charge, please contact us to discuss repairs and for a quote. Please see pictures for condition details.
The doors have shadows and holes from the removal of strap hinges. We have a pair of decorative reclaimed strap hinges available for sale that would fit the top of the doors. We have photographed the hinges against the doors (last picture) for illustrative purposes but please note they would sit on the other side of the doors to the side they were photographed against. The hinges are SOLD SEPERATELY and at AN EXTRA COST. Please see our listing reference M1697 for details. You will also need to source hinges for the bottom part of the door.
The doors have a fantastic Gothic style appearance and once restored they would make a fantastic statement for a home.
